CLEVELAND, Ohio – For heavy-machinery operations that require a clean line of vision but under-the-hood space is limited, turbo Filtration’s turbo® III Precleaner Flex-N-line offers the only rotary ejective Precleaner on the market today with the capability to operate efficiently under the hood. Low in restriction and high in efficiency across a wide range of applications, the Flex-N-line is powered by the advanced-technology rotor in turbo Filtration’s turbo III and it is independently laboratory tested to ISO 5011 standards.
The Flex-N-line is the right choice for off-highway equipment such as cranes, telehandlers, skid steers and other machines in which space is at a premium. turbo Filtration’s Flex-N-line Precleaner uses the existing air intake and requires no intake air penetration or hole in the hood of the machine. And, its design helps increase filter life and improves engine efficiency, which can reduce costly downtime.
“Our compact Flex-N-line offers OEM design engineers the flexibility of mounting this Precleaner either horizontally or vertically within tight confines under hood and within the engine compartment without changing the hood configuration,” said Tracy Long, Maradyne Corporation’s director of business development. “This Precleaner features straight-through air flow, providing purified, clean air to the engine to promote greater engine efficiency while extending engine and filer life.”
The turbo Precleaner line is uniquely designed for high quality and efficiency. Unlike other precleaners that typically use “reverse axial” designs, the turbo brand employs a straight-through air flow path. This means dirty incoming air enters the top of the unit and flows directly into guide vanes. The air is directed into a high-velocity air-powered rotor chamber, which is powered by the machine’s engine and is rotating at about 5,000 rpm. There, engineered blades create centrifugal force, spinning out of the unit through special discharge ports more than 85 percent of contaminants, some as small as 1 micron, including dust, dirt, insects and moisture, ultimately allowing only purified air into the machinery. With reverse axial designs, dirty air enters the bottom of the Precleaner where it must make a U-turn, restricting the air flow and robbing the engine of power. Higher restriction means filters don’t last as long, engines don’t work as efficiently and equipment generally requires more maintenance.
